EAST LANSING, MICH., July 31-(UP)- Roger D Obert, Oxford, is the new president
of the Michigan Association of Vocational Agriculture.
Obert was named head of the group at its 34th annual convention here Thursday.
He succeeds Albert D Ackley, Ovid, who was named to the board of directors.

Eleanor was born in Ardwick, MD, on June 8, 1911, to Edward Wallace & Margaret
(McCullough) Wilson. Her parents both emigrated from Scotland in the early 1900s.
Eleanor grew up with a brother and two sisters.
She excelled in athletics and music in high school and attended Central Michigan
College. She lived most of her life in Ovid, MI where she raised three children
and was a loving partner and wife for nearly 50 years to her husband Albert,
a beloved and honored school teacher in Ovid, MI. She was involved in local civic
theatre productions throughout the years, served as church youth counselor and
church camp counselor for many years, and was the secretary for the United Church
in Ovid for 17 years. She attended and had become a member of the Vicksburg United
Methodist Church and United Methodist Women after moving to Vicksburg in 1992.
She touched many people with her generosity and kindness and could brighten anyones
day. She lived each day by the motto. Others, Lord, yes, others. Let this my
motto be. Help me to live for OTHERS. That I may live like THEE. She was preceded
in death 24 years ago by her husband, Albert; her brother, Edward Wilson; sister,
Elizabeth Dunn; and daughter in law, Ruth Ackley.
She is survived by her sister, Virginia Uhl of Dundee, MI; son, Douglas Ackley
of Bellevue; daughters, Barbara & Al Hosner of Vicksburg and Joan & Jim
Coppinger of Kalamazoo; several nieces and nephews; 10 grandchildren; and 15
great grandchildren.
Following cremation a memorial graveside service will be held on Monday, November
3, at 3 p.m. at Maple Grove Cemetery in Ovid, MI.
A memorial service will be held on December 21st. for Eleanor at the Vicksburg
United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Vicksburg
