The marriage of Miss Barbara Anne Miller, daughter, of Mr. and Mrs. Bert E. Miller of Manlius, and Robert Lewis Ackley, son of Charles Ackley of Delphi Falls, was solemnized at 2 p. m, Saturday July 31, in Manlius Baptist church by the Rev. John J. Baker. The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was attended by Miss Bertha Miller, Mrs. Clifton Whaley and Miss Joan Heffernan, Barbara Chapman was flower girl. Henry Krzykowski of Manlius was best man and Francis Race of Cazenovia and Foster Nourse were ushers. After a reception in the church parlors, the couple left on a trip to Chicago, Detroit and Niagara Falls, They are-making their home at 105 North st., Manlius. He died on 13 Nov 1997 in De Ruyter, Madison , New York.²¹ His Obituary appeared in the The Post-Standard on 14 Nov 1997 in Syracuse, Onondaga , New York Robert L. Ackley, 73, of Utica Street died Thursday at home.
Born in Delphi Falls, he lived in DeRuyter 41 years.
He was a building contractor with Ackley & Harvey Builders, primarily constructing churches.
Mr. Ackley was a member of the Eastern Hills Bible Church, Manlius, and a member of the Owen Woodford American Legion Post, DeRuyter.
Surviving are his wife, Margaret of DeRuyter; four sons, Stephen of Springfield, Ohio, Jonathan and Paul, both of DeRuyter and Timothy of Easton, Pa.; two daughters, Deborah Marshall of Morgantown, Pa., and Rebecca Wintermute of Little Falls; 14 grandchildren; a nephew and several cousins.
Services are 1 p.m. Sunday at the Eastern Hills Bible Church, Manlius. Burial is in Delphi Falls Cememtery.
Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Smith Funeral Home, Cortland Street, DeRuyter.
