Caroline ACKLEY and Jonas Sweetland WIGHT were married on 19 Dec 1830 in Smithville, Chenango , New York.^1,2 Jonas Sweetland WIGHT (son of Orange WIGHT and Roxanna SWEETLAND) was born on 30 Sep 1807 in New York.^2,3 He died on 8 May 1878.^2,3 He signed a will.⁴
Aug 28 1875 Last Will and Testament signed by Jonas Wight-
Jonas Wight was a resident of Smithville, NY. The named executors were sons Morris B. Wight and Eli T. Wight.
Jonas signed his will so he could at least write his name! The provisions of the will were:
1. "Beloved Wife Caroline" got "all the use, improvements, and income" from the dwelling house, lands, and appertenances
of real and personal property in Smithville, NY to the end of her natural life.
2. Son Richard Wight to get $2000 within 18 months of Caroline Wight's death.
3. Son Eli T. Wight to get $5000 within 18 months of Caroline Wight's death.
4. Son Morris B. Wight to get $4000 within 18 months of Caroline Wight's death.
5. Son George T. Wight to get $2000 within 18 months of Caroline Wight's death.
6. Remainder of property, after expenses, to be divided among "my four sons, namely Richard, George, Morris and Eli."
Sons Hiram and Henry are not mentioned in the Last Will & Testament so presumably they are dead before Aug 28, 1875

Feb 25 1895 Jonas Wight's estate finally settled in Norwich, NY at the Surrogate's Court.
Only executor Eli T. Wight is present at settlement. George T. Wight was served with paperwork in Waterloo, Iowa on Jan 1, 1895.
Sons Eli, George, and Maurice are mentioned in the settlement. Sons Richard, Hiram and Henry are not mentioned.
