He was born Jan. 20, 1909, in Clay. county, W. Va., to Silas W. and Cenith Ann
Hanshaw Ackley; On March 22, 1935, he married the former Maggie E. Ford who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Thomas Douglas Ackley, Ashville; three grandchildren;
two brothers, Ralph Ackley, Peebles, and Ernest Ackley, Pickerington.
Mr. Ackley was retired from the timber business with forty years of Service.
He attended Morgantown Christian Union Church where funeral service will be
held 2 p.m. Sunday with Rev. James McCain and Rev. Walter Snyder officiating.
Burial will follow in Gardner Cemetery, near Morgantown. Friends may call at
the Botkin Funeral Home, Waverly, 2-9 p.m. Saturday

preceded her in death on Feb. 7, 1985.
Surviving are a brother, Lewis Ford, Piketon; three sisters, Mrs. Elsie Hart,
Columbus, Mrs. Ruby Creech, Dayton, Mrs. Thelma Penn, Piketon; three grandchildren,
Mrs. Cynthia Hughes, and Keven Ackley, both of Columbus and Heath Ackley, Lockborne;
a great-grandchild, Miranda Hughes She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas
Douglas Ackley, and three brothers, Charles Ford, Lafay Ford, and Harry Ford
jr.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Morgantown Church of Christ
in Christian Union with Rev. James McCain and Rev.
