Emmett Salt, 87, of Chillicothe OH, died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2006 at 10:44 p.m. shortly after arrival at the Adena Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Salt was born Sept. 28, 1918 in Lebanon, OH to Everett and Stella Ackley Salt. He attended the University of Cincinnati and lived most of his life in Hamilton and Ross Counties.
Mr. Salt was a 44-year employee of U.S. Shoe in Cincinnati. He retired in 1978 as vice president of manufacturing.
He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Chillicothe.
On June 19, 1943 he married the former Dorothy Belle Garrison. She preceded him in death on April 28, 2005. He was also preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Thelma Kirby and a brother-in-law, Joe Walley.
Mr. Salt is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Michael G. and Helen Salt of Richmond, VA, Stephen and Anne Salt of Lexington, KY, Douglas and Rosanne Salt of Wexford, PA; five granddaughters; a brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Sally Salt of Chillicothe and a sister, Charlene Walley of Bainbridge.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006 at 2 p.m. at the Brown's Chapel Cemetery near Clarksburg. &nbsp
A family visitation will be held Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the Kirkpatrick Funeral Home in New Holland.
