ACKLEY-BARKHURST VOWS WILL BE READ TONIGHT
Rev. Wolcott S. Harsell will read the double ring ceremony, uniting in
marriage Miss Jean Barkhurst and Pfc. Victor Glenn Ackley, at 8:30 o'clock this
evening in First Church of Christ. Attendants will be Mrs. Kenneth W. Denman,
sister of the bride, and James E. Ackley, brother of the bridegroom. Mrs. J.
Brannon Hull, organist, will present a program of bridal music preceding the
ceremony. The custom of open church will be observed and friends are welcome.
Miss Barkhurst, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. R. Barkhurst of Duncan
Falls, graduated at Philo high school, class of 1944. She is a member of the
U.S. Cadet Nurse Corps, Bethesda hospital, and the First Church of Christ.
Pfc. Ackley, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Ackley of Zanesville is
a graduate of Lash high school, class of 1941, and is a member of the Fair Oaks
Baptist church. Before being inducted into the army April 17, 1943, he was employed
at the Taylorcraft Aviation Corporation, Alliance, Ohio. He recently returned
to Thayer General hospital in Nashville, Tenn., after being with Combat Engineers

Dinner Party Honors Couple
Mr. and Mrs. Webster Palmer of McConnelville entertained recently in honor
of Pfc. And Mrs. Victor G. Ackley of Duncan Falls. Pfc. Ackley is on leave from
the Wakeman Convalescent hospital and Mrs. Ackley was observing her birthday.
Other guests at the affair were Mr. and Mrs. H.R. Barkhurst of Duncan Falls,
Mrs. Kenneth Denman of Zanesville and Mr. and Mrs. Chester Palmer of McConnelsville.
Pfc. Ackley will report to Ft. Oglethorpe, Ga., at the end of his present furlough.
