Born in Mt. Sterling, Aug. 17, 1895, the son of George and Octavia Blake Ackley, he was a retired shoemaker and had lived in Xenia 55 years before moving to Indiana.
He is survived by one son, Grover L. Ackley of Warren, Ind.; six daughters, Mrs. Richard (Eleanor) Martin of Vandalia, Betty Stoltz and Mrs. Kathryn Contardi, both of Milwaukee, Wis.; Mrs. Archer (Janet) Maxwell of Warren, Ind.; Mrs. June Storer of Gahanna, and Mrs. David (Patty) Sheely of Springfield: a half brother, Robert Evans of Fairborn and a half sister, Mrs. Opal Lee Kelly, also of Fairborn, 20 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted Monday at 10 am. at the Butler Funeral Home,
Warren, Ind. with burial in Woodland Cemetery there. Visitation will be after 2
p.m Sunday at the funeral home
