He was born Jan 3 1903in Clay County West Virginia to Jerimiah and Hannah Ackley. Mr Ackley had been a resident of Ashtabula County since 1966 , except when he resided in Newburg Heights , from 1968 to 1980.
Mr Ackley was a retired farmer, and owned the gas station in North Richmond from 1966 to 1980.
He married the former Iva J Dawson Oct 11 1922.
He enjoyed gardening and the outdoors.
Survivors include four sons, Albert V Ackley of Streetsboro, Jerry R Ackley of Berea, Frank Ackley of Trumbull Township, and Royce S Ackley of Jefferson, five daughters, Marguerite A Music of Miami Florida, Juanita B Angell of Grove City Ohio, Willa J Speer of Dorset, Phyllis J Clark of Pataskala, Ohio and Judy C Bosworth of Mentor; 32 grand children and 31 great grand children.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Iva in 1974, one son, three brothers, one sister, and two grand sons, James Ackley and Duane Speer.
Funeral services were Sunday at the Fleming Funeral Home, Inc. 49 West Jefferson Street,
Jefferson, with the Rev Herb Goetz of the Pierpont Presbyterian officiating. Burial was at noon Monday in Brooklyn Heights Cemetery, Cleveland.
