James H. Ackley Sr., 66, of Zeigler Road, died at 1:18 am. July 27, 1988, in University Hospital, Columbus, following a short illness.
He was born June 18, 1922, in Austin, Ohio, to Carey F and Elsie Deeter Ackley. On March 28. 1980. he married the former Carolyn S Posey. who survives along with sons and daughters-In-law. James H. Jr and Kristen Ackley, Sandusky. Ohio, Ronald A. and Joy Ackley. Chillicothe, and son, Milton E Ackley, at home; grandchildren, James Ackley I'll. Brent. Chad, Kathryn. Jay and Shea Ackley:
great-grandson, James Ackley IV. brother and sister-in-law, Arthur F and Kaye Ackley. Chillicothe. sister. Mrs. Marie Neal, Circleville. several nieces and nephews He was pre deceased by a sister, Daisy Gillfillan.
Mr. Ackley served in the U S. Marine Corps during WW II He retired in 1982 from the Mead Corporation, where he had worked for 41 years. He belonged to the Grand Lodge F.& AM., Frankfort Lodge No. 309; Chillicothe Chapter No. 4 Chillicothe Council No. 4: Chillicothe Commandery No. 8, Knights Templar; Aladdin Temple Shrine of Columbus; Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Columbus. He also was a member of Nazarene Shrine No. 28, Order of White Shrine of Jerusalem. of which he was currently Watchman of Shepherds: Order of the Eastern Star Frankfort; Aladdin Kentucky Colonel Club: the El Hasa Kentucky Colonel Club; the Ross and Pike County Shrine Clubs, the Ohio State White Shrine Association, Hillbilly Clan No, 8; Assoc Patron First Capital Court No 52 Order of the Amaranth Ross County REACT Club: American Legion Post No. 62. DAV. Chapter 18: and the Mead Foreman's Club.
Funeral service will be 1:30 pm Sunday in the Ware Funeral Home. with Rev. Pete Shaffer officiating. Burial will follow in' Greenlawn Cemetery, Frankfort, where there, will be military graveside rites Friends may call 5-9 p.m. Saturday' at Ware's, where a White Shrine service will be held at 7 pm and a Masonic service at 7:30 pm

Nina M. Ackley, 65, recently of Annis Court, Chillicothe, died at her residence unexpectedly.
She was born Oct. 17, 1924 in Ross County to Lora E. and Edith B. Byers Meeker.
She is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald A. and Joy Ackley, Chillicothe, James H. Jr. and Kris Ackley, Tipp City, Ohio; six grandchildren Jay R., Shea E., James H. Ill, Brent, Chad. and Katie Ackley; a great-grandson, James H. Ackley IV; three brothers, Ronald L. Meeker, Seattle, Lloyd J. Meeker, Collinsville, Ill., and Jack E. Meeker, Centerville; three nieces, Kay Ann Oyer. Chillicothe, Barbara Harris, Troy, Ill., and Karen Marshall, Salisbury, NC. two nephews, Michael Meeker, Madison, Wisconsin, and Craig Meeker, Toledo, She was predeceased by one sister.
Mrs. Ackley had managed the former Twentieth Century Lanes in Chillicothe. For 17 years prior to returning to Chillicothe, in November of last year, she was employed at the Fair Lanes Inc., Baltimore, M.D., and was program coordinator for Day Ladies, Youth, Senior Citizens leagues, and Special Events for over 100 bowling centers throughout the United States and Puerto Rico.
Funeral services are to be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Ware Funeral Home with Rev. William Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call at Ware's, where the casket will be closed, from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday.
