News has been received here of the death of Mr William Ackley. Mr Ackley died Monday night in New Albany, Indiana, and funeral services will be held in Tunkhannock, Pa.
Mr Ackley's wife is the former Miss Kate Lee Summers, daughter of the late John Summers and Mrs Minnie Westmoreland Summers of Statesville. She lived in Statesville through her school days and went from here to Columbia, S C . She and Mr Ackley were married in Columbia and had made their home in Alabama, living in recent years in Foley, Alabama. They were visiting relatives of Mr Ackley in New Albany at the time of his death. Mr and Mrs Ackley had no children.
