HOSTETLER, Dorothy A. - Of Flushing, age 87, died Sunday, November 27, 2005
at her residence. Funeral service will be held at 1PM Wednesday, November 30,
2005 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor David L. Boillat
officiating. Burial in Lakeview Cemetery in Howell, Michigan. Those desiring
may make contributions to the American Cancer Society or Genesee County Humane
Society. Visitation 4-8PM Monday, 12-8PM Tuesday at the funeral home. She was
born in Howell, Michigan on September 2, 1918, the daughter of the late Vern
and Florence Ackley. She lived in Howell until she was grown. She married Raymond
Hostetler on June 29, 1935 in Flint and had 2 sons, Loren and Warren and moved
to Flushing in 1942, where her sons were raised and went to school. Surviving
are son, Warren and wife Sherrie of Grand Blanc; daughter-in-law, Mary Jo Hostetler;
2 granddaughters, Colette Hostetler and Connie Geer; 2 great-grandchildren, Bruce
Lloyd (Melissa) and Amanda Hadden; many nieces and nephews; Dan Escoto, Craig
Stack and Renee Cowen, who were like children to Dorothy; she also leaves many
close and dear friends. She was preceded in death by husband, Raymond in 1984;
son, Loren in 1988 and sister, Joy Garlock.
