Barbara Mae Ackley, 65, of Gibbon, Neb., died Saturday, May 13, 2000, at The Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Neb.
She was born June 14, 1934, in Beardstown, to William H. (Dick) and Mary L. (Knous) LaMaster. She married Charles E. Ackley in Beardstown on Oct. 14, 1950. He survives.
Also surving are four sons, Charles Allen (wife, Donna) of Clinton, Okla., Ronald (wife, Colleen) of Burns Flat, Okla., Terry (wife, Sharon) of Gibbon, Neb., and Halford (wife, Tina) of Ravenna, Neb.; three daughters, Linda (husband, Jay) Issac of Kearney, Neb., Ruth (husband, Donald) Lee of Butler, Okla., and Judy (husband, Randy) Ureste of Lexington, Neb.; 22 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Alice Gladwell of Rushville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and step father, George J. Kelley.
Mrs. Ackley grew up in Beardstown and Rushville. She and her husband made their home in Beardstown until moving to Clinton, Okla. in 1962. In 1974 they moved to Gibbon, Neb., where she was a supervisor at the Nebraska Turkey Growers turkey plant.
Graveside services were held Wednesday, May 17. Cremains were interred at Riverside Cemetery in Gibbon, Neb.
Memorials are suggested to the Gibbon Emergency Unit.
