He was born March 25, 1928, at Williamsville, the son of Ray and Lora Ackley Harmon. He married Betty Shay Sept. 15, 1951, at Mason City. She survives.
Other survivors include one daughter, Tammy Harmon, at home; two brothers, Jack Harmon, Hickory Point, N.C., and James Harmon, Henderson, Ky.; and two sisters, Lula Bunker, Sangamon County, and Loretta Snyder, Mason City.
His parents preceded him in death.
He had been a carpenter and construction worker for 28 years, retiring in 1976.
He was a member of Lincoln and Springfield carpenter unions. His Social Security Number was 321-20-8898 IL.
