MIDDLEBURY - Isabelle Noble White, 99, of Middlebury and formerly of Rutland,
died Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2001, at the Helen Porter Nursing Home in Middlebury. She
was born in Ripton, July 23, 1901, daughter of Robinson Ellis Noble and Bernice
(Ackley) Noble.
Her early life was spent at Breadloaf, where her parents were employed by Joseph
Battell. After her mother's death in 1916, the family moved to Rochester.
She graduated from Rochester High School in 1918 and then worked in White River
Junction and Rutland.
She married William Henry White in 1923 and they resided in Rutland until they
moved to Middlebury on Christmas Day in 1934. She worked at the Grey Shop in
Middlebury for many years in the 1940s and '50s, retiring in 1963.
She was a member of the Methodist Church in Middlebury.
Survivors include three daughters and their husbands, Shirley and Robert Mulligan
of Spring Hill, Fla., Lois Ann and Everett Skillings of Bradenton, Fla., and
Geraldine and Duane Myrick of Middlebury; a son, William Henry White of Litchfield
Park, Ariz.; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two nephews.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Justine Cuozzo, in 1998 and her husband in
1956.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Entombment will
be in Evergreen Cemetery, with burial there at a later date.
