Thomas ACKLEY was born on 25 May 1755 in Boston, Suffolk , Massachusetts.^2,13,15 He was baptized on 25 May 1755 in Old South Church, Boston, Suffolk , Massachusetts.^2,16 He appeared in the census in 1820 in Vermont. He was living in 1820 in Windham , Vermont.¹⁰ He died on 28 Feb 1850 in Brattleboro, Windham , Vermont.^{2,13,15,16,17} He was buried in Brattleboro, Windham , Vermont.¹⁸ He served in the military Revolutionary War.^13,15,18 He was a minuteman at the battle of Lexington. His name appears with the rank of private on the Lexington alarm roll of Capt. Joseph Guilds Company, Col. Graeton's Reg't. (36th), which marched on the alarm of April 19, 1775, from Dedham. Length of service was 13 days. He then enlisted ,on May 9, 1775, in Capt. Guild's Co., Col. Heath's Reg't. (36th). Five of his brothers, Francis, Joseph, Hohn, Samuel and William were in the Revolutionary War.
