Allyn was married to Marion Ackley Lamb on Sept. 6, 1958, in Groton.
Mr. Lamb had worked as an electrician for 37 years at the Electric Boat Company in Groton, retiring in 1994 as a general foreman.
He was a member of the Poquonnock Bridge Baptist Church and the Groton Lodge of Elks, as well as the Shennecossett Golf Club and the Electric Boat Athletic Club.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Cheryl and Mark Mundell of Groton and Alice and Michael Quibble of Ledyard; a brother, Vance J. Lamb of Groton; and four grandchildren, Meghan and Jess Mundell and Allyn and Miranda Quibble.
He was predeceased by a son, Allyn C. Lamb, Jr. and a brother, Melvin H. Lamb.
Memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Monday evening, Sept. 13, 2004, at the Poquonnock Bridge Baptist Church, 1241 Poquonnock Road, Groton. Burial will be private. There will be no visiting hours.
Byles-Groton Memorial Home, 310 Thames St. is in charge of arrangements.
