disappeared about one week ago and no trace of him has been discovered since.

in Olean, Cattaraugus , New York The Warren Democrat contains the
following: The body of Winslow Ackley, aged about 50 years, was found in a pool
in Ackley run Thursday. One evening about a week ago Mr. Ackley purchased some
groceries in Russell and started for his home about a quarter of a mile away.
The night was very stormy and it is thought that Mr. Ackley while crossing the
bridge over the run, which has no guards, fell into the run, which was very much
swollen by the recent rains, and drowned. Mr Ackley was a very much respected
in the community and his family have much sympathy in their misfortune. His

, Pennsylvania The body of Winslow Ackley who had been missing
since one week ago Thursday evening was found at the R R bridge that spans the
Ackley run, Thursday of last week one half mile from Russell, when last seen
he made a few purchases of groceries and left for home; the night was dark and
stormy and when he had reached the bridge that spans the North run it is supposed
he stepped off as there were no railings on the bridge. The stream was very
high. He was missed Saturday following and searching parties were sent out in
every direction. Mr A Clark the undertaker took charge of his body. His remains
were interred in the Russell cemetery. Winslow Ackley was 52 years old, his
mother died fifteen years ago leaving him alone. He lived a few paces from the
run in which he was drowned. He has lived alone since his mother died. He was
a kind and benevolent citizen and was respected by all who knew him. He had
one uncle, Mr James Ackley, and one aunt, Mrs Joseph Jackson, both live in Russell.
