Robert Perry Bartlett officiating. Burial will take place in West Brattleboro cemetery. He was born in West Brattleboro April 8, 1871, one of the five children of Edson F. and Sophia M. (Quinn) Akley. On Dec. 15, 1896 he married Lillian E. Miller. Eight children were born to the couple-Gertie S., who died Feb. 12, 1940; Walter R., who died many years ago; Raymond E. of Athol, Mass; Walter E., West Cornall, Conn.; Marion E. of Brattleboro, wife of H. Morse Bond; Harold C., who made his home with his father; Bertha L., wife of Ernest Cobb of Manchester, Conn., and Ella, wife of Harry Rinaldi of Torrington, Conn. Mr. Akley also leaves 15 grandchildren and one Brother, Clifford L. Akley of Brattleboro.

Mr. Akley painted as a hobby and his work included a number of oil paintings an many coats of arms. He formerly was a member of the Brattleboro Camera Club several years.
