She was an associate member of Hydeville Baptist Church and participant in the Community Action Program in Rutland and the Community Workshop Inc. of Glens Falls, N.Y. She enjoyed music, dancing and caring for babies. Survivors include four sisters, Beverly Jones of Glens Falls, Carleen Patten of Roanoke, Va., Sheila Lancour of Three Forks, Mont., and Helen Francis of Nekoosa, Wis.; several nieces, nephews, two aunts and cousins; and her caregiver, Lisa Hewes of Benson. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Gordon Ackley Jr., in 1987. There will be no calling hours or services at this time. The graveside service will take place at a later date in Hillside Cemetery in Castleton.
