Born May 3, 1911, in Williams Bay, Wis., she was the daughter of Michael Tobias and Leila Ackley Peterson. She was graduated, in 1932, from Wheaton College, Wheaton, Ill., and was employed as a statistician at Yerkes Observatory until her marriage, in 1936, to Ralph E. Wight. The couple moved to Fort Wayne in 1940, with the Medical Protective Co., Mr. Wight's employer. Mrs. Wight was homemaker and mother to three, involved with activities at Rudisill and Forest Park Schools and at First Missionary Church. In 1956, she was employed by Fort Wayne Community Schools and taught math at James Smart and Lane Junior High Schools, retiring in 1974. She is survived by her husband of 68 years, Ralph; daughters and sons-in-law, Margaret and Richard Falb of Rhode Island, Marita Grassmann and Larry Williams of Oregon; five grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren, Dean and Nancy Falb, Michael, Katherine, Meredith, Rachel and William of Massachusetts, David and Wendy Falb, Karl and Peter of Michigan, Daniel and Susan Falb, Rebecca, David and Rachel of Illinois, Rebecca and Brent Gates, Anneka, Allison and Maya of Massachusetts, Peter and Jennifer Falb, Sarah and Hannah of Massachusetts. She was predeceased by son, James Wight of New Mexico, in 1998. Services were held April 7, 2004, at Sunland Mortuary in Sun City, Ariz.
