Ralph HUND¹¹ was born on 13 Jan 1922 in Lackawanna, Erie, New York.²⁰ He died on 4 Aug 2004 in Elizabethton, Carter, Tennessee.^10,20 His Obituary appeared in the Elizabethton Star on 6 Aug 2004 in Elizabethton, Carter, Tennessee Ralph Hund, 82, 509 Sycamore Gardens St., Elizabethton, died Wednesday, August 4, 2004 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a brief illness.
A native of Lackawanna, N.Y., he was the son of the late Herbert J. and Ella M. Ackley Hund.
He was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Elizabethton.
He was a research engineer and a retired employee of Great Lakes Research Corporation.
He was a U.S. Army veteran having served during World War II and the Korean Conflict.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia E. Hund; one brother and three sisters.
He is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Martin and Barbara Hund, Harrogate, Tenn.; Herbert and Kathy Hund, Kingston; two daughters and a son-in-law, Frances Hund, of the home; Judith and Scott Mathewson, Fairfax Station, Va.; one grandson, Joseph Mathewson, Fairfax Station, Va.; three sisters and one brother; several nieces and nephews also survive.
The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, August 6, 2004 at Washington County Memory Gardens with Father Dennis Kress officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home at any time. Those who plan to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. on Friday. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations in memory of Mr. Hund to The American Cancer Society, 209 S. Riverside Dr., Elizabethton, TN 37643 or to the American Heart Association, 208 Sunset Dr., Suite 356, Johnson City, TN 37601.
