Dear Brother, I have no time to spare yet thought I would employ one moment in writing to my brother. I do not know as you will be pleased to hear what I have to tell, but Isaac, the truth must be told and I may as well tell you at once that the object of this letter is to acquaint you with the marriage of Martha Ann Bassett, to Hiram S B Ackley. Methinks you look surprised for I believe this was not known to you unless like everybody else you have guessed it but my dear brother, it is as true as it is awful.
The ceremony will take place on the 24th of the present month. I do not have any wedding, but if it is convenient for you, I should like to have you attend.
I have no time to write more at present.
From your affectionate Sister,
