6/17/02 - KANE PA KANE, Pa. — Dean Q. Ackley, 79, of 408 Pine St., died
Monday (June 17, 2002) in Presbyterian Montefiore Hospital, Pittsburgh. He
was born Jan. 11, 1923, in Kane, the son of James and Zula Payne Ackley. He
was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army. He was employed by
the former Stackpole Plant and retired from Affiliated Industries in 1985.
He was a member of First Baptist Church in Kane. He enjoyed hunting,
fishing, traveling, computers and woodworking. He is survived by his wife,
Ruth M. McNeil Ackley, whom he married March 28, 1947, in Kane; two
daughters: Barbara Page of Brookville, Pa., and Beverly Nicklas of Woodland,
Pa.; a son, Rick Ackley of Warren; eight grandchildren; six
great-grandchildren; and two brothers: Gerald Ackley of Kane and Gene Ackley
of Fredericksburg, Va. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Ron Brisson
Jr.; and a brother, Lyle Ackley. The funeral service was held June 20 in
Cummings Funeral Home Inc., Kane. The Rev. John Dawson, pastor of First






Baptist Church, officiated. Burial was in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Memorials
may be made to First Baptist Church, Kane.
