Marble Rock - George M. Ackley, 76,passed away November 3 at Cedar Valley hospital in Charles City. His death was due to a coronary heart ailment.
Mr. Ackley was born in Marble Rock December 23, 1881, the son of Gideon
and Lucinda Ackley. He was raised, and farmed near Marble Rock, until retirement In 1929, when be moved to Marble Rock.
In 1904 he was united in marriage to Dora Thiema,n of Marble Rock. Three children were born to this union, Elroy of Charles City, Cecil (deceased), and Lorraine Rimsey of Denver, Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, one sister, a son and a great grandson. Surviving, are his wife Dora, a son, a daughter, five grandchildren and, seven great grand-children.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 7, at 2:00 o'clock at the Hamilton Funeral Chapel in Greene. Burial will be in West side cemetery, Marble Rock
