Dilts, 101, of Ellisville, formerly of Viola, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 1997, at her home.
Born Oct. 7, 1895, in Ellisville to William and Alice Ackley Kreider, she married James M. Dilts on June 7, 1916, in Ellisville. He died in 1972. She also was preceded in death by one son, Wesley, and one daughter, Clarcia Fontenoy.
Surviving are five sons, Ira of Viola, and Francis, Ronald, Donald and Charles, all of Ellisville; 23 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
She and her husband moved to the Quad City area and later returned to Ellisville, where they farmed until 1955. They moved to Viola in 1972.
She worked at Farmall from 1941 to 1943 and then worked at the Quad City Airport restaurant.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Fippinger Funeral Home in Aledo. The Rev. Leo Smith will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Viola Cemetery.
She was buried in Viola Cemetery, Viola, Mercer, Illinois.¹⁹
