ACKLEY IS NAMED CONSTABLE AT WADSWORTH
Judge G A Ballard today signed the decree deciding the election contest for
the Wadsworth constableship in favor of Frank Ackley, and County Clerk Beemer
also issued the certificate of election to Ackley.
Under this ruling Ackley will immediately assume the office of constable.
Ackley contested the election of George Dallimore, who in the original count
received one more vote than Ackley and J Sheehan and the latter intervened the
contest, the recount giving Ackley the office by one vote. He purchased land

MAN KILLED WHEN CAR HITS TRAIN
Frank Ackley, former constable at Wadsworth, and a brother of Gar Ackley of
Reno, was fatally injured when his automobile collided with a train at Wadsworth
this morning. The accident occurred at ten o'clock, and Ackley died half an
hour later.
A native of Kansas, he was about sixty years old. He came to Nevada twenty-five
years ago, and for many years has been engaged in mining operations around the
old railroad town and in the Olinghouse district. For two years he was a sergeant
of the night guard at the Nevada prison, and also served as constable at Wadsworth.
Surviving are his brother, Gar Ackley, Reno barber; two sisters, Minnie McArthur
of Wadsworth, and Sophie Emmerson of Ohio. He was the uncle of Marjorie McArthur
of Carson and Frank Gladwin of San Francisco.
Funeral arrangements have not been made yet. The body is at the O'Brien &
