Joel Ackley was made an Ensign of the third company in the 26th Regiment of state
troops. He served as a member of two different NY companies during the revolution
and received 600 acre grant of land in Ulysses township in what is now Tompkins
Co., NY. He sold his right to the land in Jul 1783. Pvt Joel ACKLEY and Lois
