Died at Home of Son Thursday
Night After Long Illness

The death of Mrs. Jennie Ackley, widow of
Horace A. Ackley, ocurred at 10:15 o'clock
Thursday night at the home of her son,
William J. Ackley of the South St. Road. She
had been in failing health for several years.
Death being due to heart disease.
Jennie Gibbons was born at York on April
30, 1845 and had been a resident of this
village since 1903.
Coming here from Cincinnati, Ohio, where she
resided for thirty years. In 1866 she was married
to Mr. Ackley who died in1903. She was a member
of St. Peters Church, Sacred Heart League and the
Rosary Society.
Beside her son William, she leaves two brothers
,John Gibbons of Wyoming and William Gibbons of
Peru, Indiana. Her sister, Miss Mary Gibbons, died
the 25th of last December.
The Funeral was held from St. Peter's Church,
Monday morning at 9 o'clock. Interment was in the
family lot in St. Agnes Cemetary at Avon.

WILLIAM J. ACKLEY
The sudden Death of William J. Ackley, head
machinist for the Jell-O company, occured at his
Home on the South St. Road, one mile south of
LeRoy, at 10:45 o'clock Sunday evening. Although
he had been under treatment for a heart ailment
for the past four weeks, his death was
unexpected, following an attack of 45 minutes
duration.
Mr. Ackley, a native of Ludlow, Ky, was born
on Jan.31, 1875, a son of Horace and Jennie
Gibbons Ackley. Prior to coming to LeRoy 23 yrs.
ago he had spent most of his life in the middle
west.
He was a graduate of a Cincinnati High School
and attended St.Xavier college there. He has
been employed in the Jell-O plant for 21 yrs.
He was a member of the Methodist Episcopal
Church and LeRoy Lodge of Moose.
On Ost. 14, 1896, Mr. Ackley was married to
Miss Estelle Higdon of Cincinnati, who
survives with a son, Irving J. Ackley; two
Daughters, Mrs. Clayton Johnson and Mrs.
Raymond Papke and six grandsons, all of
LeRoy.
The Funeral will be held at the Ackley
Home at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon, the Rev.
Lewis B. Carpenter, paster of the Methodist
Episcopal church, conducting the services.
Interment will be in the Family Plot in the
Machpelah cemetary.
