ALTMAR - Raymond T. Ackley, 92, of Centerville Road, died Wednesday at his home.
Born in the town of Albion, Mr. Ackley attended Altmar High School. He owned
and operated a dairy farm all his life. He was past president and director of
the Oswego County Mutual Insurance Co. He was a member of Russell Tryon American
Legion Post of Altmar, of which he was past commander. Mr. Ackley also was adjutant,
historian and acting chaplain of the post. He was a member of the Albion Republican
Committee and welfare commissioner and tax collector. Surviving are his wife,
Dorothy Ingerson Ackley; a son, Richard A. of Rome; three grandchildren; and
two great-grandchildren. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Foster-Hax Funeral
Home, Pulaski, the Rev. Richard Pero officiating. Burial will be in Riverside
Cemetery, Altmar. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. He appeared

-- UNTIL ABOUT THE MID 1960S. IT WAS IN ALBION, OSWEGO, NY AND WAS AN
OLD, VERY SMALL GREEK-REVIVAL-STYLE HOUSE WITH NO INDOOR BATHROOM. IT
ALMOST ALWAYS SNOWED, AND THAT TIME IN THE OUTHOUSE WAS COLD! THE
TURKIES AND OTHER FOOD WERE KEPT WARM ON A LARGE OLD WOOD STOVE. ABOUT
30 PEOPLE CAME EACH YEAR. THE ADULTS SAT IN THE DINING ROOM, AND THE
KIDS IN THE KITCHEN. THE KIDS WERE USUALLY BORED -- BUT THE LUCK ONES
GOT TO TAKE NAPS ON THE FEATHERBED OR PLAY THE VICTORIAN PUMP ORGAN.

PULASKI -. Mrs. Brownie I. Rupracht, 82. of Town Line Road, died yesterday at
the House of the Good Samaritan, Watertown, where she had been a patient, for
three weeks. Born in the Town of Albion, she attended schools at Altmar. She
and her late husband, Floyd E., had operated a farm in the Albion area since
1918 and, her husband was also a cattle dealer. She was a 50-year member of the
Albion Grange and a member of Park United Methodist Church. Surviving are a daughter,
Mrs. Stanley Sanderson of Pulaski RD 4; three grandchildren, a great grandson
and two brothers, Raymond of Altmar and West Ackley of Mexico. Services will
be 1 p m. tomorrow at Foster-Hax Funeral Home. Burial will be in South Richland
Cemetery. Calling hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

MEXICO - West L Ackley of Norman Avenue died Friday morning at his home.;
Born Sept. 20,1897, in Altmar, he was a son of the late Frank and Mary Wessels
Ackley. He had lived in Mexico for many years. He was married in 1923 to Gladys
Dingman. . . He was employed for many years by the. Dexter Feed Mill in Mexico
and continued * working there when the ownership passed
to Reginald Backus and became Mexico Feed and Supply. For the last several years
he had worked there part time. He was a past master of the Mexico Grange and
a present member of Palermo Grange. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Harvey
L. of Pulaski and Trevelyn W. of Detroit, Mich.; a daughter, Mrs. Arlea Farley
of Syracuse; .eight grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; a brother, Raymond
of Altmar, several nieces and nephews. Services, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at
Harter-Olmstead Funeral Home, the Rev. Kenneth Lord of the First United Methodist
Church officiating. Burial will be in Mexico Village Cemetery. Calling hours
will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 today at the funeral home. Contributions may be made
