Edward PURPLE was born about 1657.23 He was living about 1675 in Haddam, Middlesex, Connecticut.
He signed a will on 19 Dec 1718 in Haddam, Middlesex, Connecticut.22 Edward Purple Location: Haddam

I, Edward Purple of Haddam, do make this my last will and testament: I give unto
my wife Hannah all my household goods, and it is my will that my sons John and
Edward afford her comfortable maintenance while she remains my widow. I give
to my son John my orchard with all the land appertaining thereto, as it lyes,
bounded north and east on land of John Bate, south on the highway; also, my dwelling
house and all my land which it stands upon, from the white oak tree marked "I.P."
and a line running from the said tree so as to make a right angle att the highway,
across unto land belonging to Solomon Bate. I give unto him the whole of said
land excepting only one acre of meadow from said line downwards toward the river.
I give to my son Edward that tract of land upon which his dwelling house now
stands, as it is bounded west on the highway, north on land of Deacon Joseph
Arnold, east on Connecticut River, and south on a highway. I give to my son Richard
one acre of my meadow land and the northwest end of the lott that my house stands
upon. It is my will that in consideration of what I have given to my sons that
they make payment of all my debts equally. I appoint Deacon Joseph Arnold executor.

chose his uncle Samuel Ackley to be his guardian. Recog., 50.

from England, about 1670, was probably a descendant of Christopher Purple, of
county Essex, England. A native of France, and a Huguenot, who emigrated after
the massacre of St. Bartholomew Hannah ACKLEY and Edward PURPLE had the following
