She was born on 11 Sep 1915 in La Grande, Union , Oregon.^14,15,42 About 1938 she was a waitress at Long Beach, Los Angles , California.³⁰ She lived at in 2443 Elm Ave., Long Beach, Los Angles , California about 1938.³⁰ About 1942 she was a jewelry enameler at Los Angeles , California.⁴³ She lived at in 221 S Tamaribd St, Compton, Los Angeles, California in Nov 1942.⁴³ She died on 22 May 2002 in Cedar Fort, Utah, Utah.⁴² Her Obituary appeared in the Deseret News on 25 May 2002 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah CEDAR FORT - Wythel Marguerite Ackley Mansfield died peacefully at her home in Cedar Fort on May 22, 2002.
"Grandma Wy", as she was known by everyone, was born in La-Grande, Oregon, on September 11, 1915, to George and Lulu Bridwell Ackley. She was the third child in a family of eight and spent her young life on farms in Oregon. She later moved to Southern California where she met and married the love of her life, Charles Perry Mansfield.
Wy and Perry moved to Reno, Nevada and then on to Murray, Utah, where she spent most of the rest of her life working in the banking industry and for J.C. Penney until she moved to Cedar Fort to spend her remaining years close to her family. Wy was an active member of the Murray Baptist Church and sang in the choir. She was tiny in stature but strong in spirit. Her remaining family who she loved dearly include her daughter, Josel (Jerry) Lamoreaux; grandsons, Rick (Annette) Ault; Weston Ault; C.J. Lamoreaux; great-grandchildren, Brandon and Bridget Thomas and Tyrell Ault.
Graveside services and interment will be held Saturday, May 25, 2002, at 12:00 noon at the Cedar Fort City Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the Cedar Fort LDS Church at 11:00 a.m. prior to the services under the direction of Wing Mortuary, Lehi.
