Keith Johnston Ackley passed away peacefully on July 29, 1998, after a short bout with lung cancer. He was born in Alexandria Bay, New York, on March 16, 1917.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years
RCA, where he worked for over 25 years as an engineer and sales executive. Enjoying life to the fullest, they traveled extensively and devoted considerable time to civic and community groups. An active civic leader, Keith was one of the founders of the Emergency Medical Service in Buchanon Dam, served on the Buchanon Dam Water System planning board, and was Chairman of the local Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the Highland Lakes Repeater Society, past-President of the Highland Lakes Wildflower and Birding Society, a leader in the Unity study group, as well as volunteering at La Care and as a literacy tutor. For the past six years, he resided in Highland Haven, outside Marble Falls, where he enjoyed neighborhood activities and a close knit community.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Keith Ackley will be held Tuesday, August 4, 1998, 12:00 noon, at St. Charles Catholic Church in Kingsland, Texas.
