Dead at 60
ALEXANDRIA BAY -- Mrs. Winona M. Ackley Dingman, 60, of 95 Walton street,
an antique dealer and wife of Orvie E. Dingman, died early this morning
in the Edward John Noble hospital, where she had been a patient since
Monday. She had been ill for some time.
The funeral will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at the Giltz funeral home with Rev.
Adrian C. Gray, pastor of the Reformed Church of the Thousand Isles,
officiating. Burial will be in Ingham cemetery, Brier Hill.
Friends may call at the funeral home this evening from 7 to 9 and
Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Surviving, besides her husband, are a daughter, Mrs. Harry (Donna)
Goodman, Mohawk; a son, Vernon, Texas; six grandchildren; three sisters,
Mrs. Stella Hutton and Mrs. Clarine Kelly, both of Alexandria Bay, and
Mrs. Paul (Alice) Doak, Eaton Rapids, Mich., and two brothers, Ivan C.
Ackley, West Island, L. I., and Keith J. Ackley, Birmingham, Mich.
Mrs. Dingman was born in Alexandria Bay, Nov. 16, 1906, a daughter of
Clarence and Elizabeth Johnston Ackley. She was graduated from
Alexandria Bay High school and was married to Orvie Dingman May 26, 1943,
in Richmond, Va. Since their marriage the couple had lived in Alexandria
Bay and operated a dealership in antiques.
She appeared in the census 1910 & 1920 in New York. Winona M ACKLEY
and Lester Clarence COOPER were married.298

Dingman
Dies at 52
REDWOOD -- Orvie B. Dingman, 52, Main Street, was dead on arrival at
Edward John Noble Hospital, Alexandria Bay, at 9:45 p.m. Sunday. He had
not been in ill health.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 .m. in the Giltz Funeral Home,
Alexandria Bay, Rev. Richmond Hutchins, rector, St. Lawrence Episcopal
Church, officiating. Burial will be in Ingham Cemetery, Brier Hill.
Friends may call Tuesday afternoon and evening at the funeral home. A
Masonic service will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Marguerite MacAllister Dingman and two
sisters, Mrs. Kathleen D. Hampson, Adams Center, and Miss Florence E.
Dingman, Canton and Alexandria Bay.
Born June 22, 1918, in Alexandria Bay, son of Edwin and Nellie Beebe
(sic) Dingman, he was graduated from Alexandria Bay High School and
served in the Air Force during World War II. He was employed as a
carpenter by Thomson Enterprises and was an antique dealer.
Mr. Dingman, a 32nd degree Mason, was a member of Alexandria Lodge 297,
F&AM and was a member of St. Lawrence Episcopal Church.
He was buried in Ingham Cemetery, Brier Hill, St. Lawrence, New York.241 Winona M ACKLEY and Orvie E
