7. Rev Norman ACKLEY appeared in the census 1840 & 1850 in Michigan. He was born on 7 Jul 1802 in Litchfield, Litchfield , Connecticut.2,7,8,14 He was living in 1840 in Monroe , Michigan.26 He was living about 1842 in Ada, Kent, Michigan.27 Supervisor for Ada Township 1842 He was living about 1848 in Cannonburg, Kent, Michigan.28 Supervisor town of Cannon(burg) 1848 In 1850 he was Clergyman at Howell, Livingston , Michigan.14 THE CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH OF HOWELL

The Rev. Norman Ackley became their pastor on the 18th of June, 1849, and at the first communion thirteen members were added to the original eight. Mr. Ackley continued with the church for a year and a half, and during this time its membership was increased to fifty-two, twenty-one of whom had been members of the Presbyterian Church. But about the end of the time named, their minister was charged with improper and unministerial conduct; an investigation followed; the charges being sustained he was silenced," and his labors with this church were abruptly ended
He was living in 1850 in Howell, Livingston , Michigan.14 About 1852 he was Saw Mill Owner at Algoma, Kent , Michigan.29 One and a half miles up this creek, on the north side of section sixteen, is the saw mill commonly known as the Morningstar Mill. This mill was erected in 1852, by Norman Ackley, and refitted, and mostly rebuilt, in 1866, by Solomon and Caine

Rev Norman ACKLEY and Julia Ann were married.14 Julia Ann was born about 1806 in Rhode Island.14 She appeared in the census in 1850 in Michigan. Rev Norman ACKLEY and Julia Ann had the following children:
