CHURUBUSCO Ind, July 13 - Ezra Ackley, sixty- nine years of age and one of the best known farmers and stock men - of Smith township, died Monday morning at 6:30 o'clock at his home, one mile south of this place. His death was due to paralysis which rendered him helpless since last Thursday. He is survived by the widow and one daughter Mrs. Joseph Harter, of Churubusco One brother Lorenzo Ackley resides in Churubusco, and a nephew Dora Ackley.
The funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock at the United Brethren church with interment at the Eel River cemetery.
He was buried in Riverview Cemetery, Eel River, Allen , Indiana.^3,15 He appeared in the census 1850, 1860, 1870, 1880 & 1900 in Indiana. 9 Jul 1870 to 12 Jun 1880 he was a farmer at Smith, Whitley , Indiana.^7,14

Ezra ACKLEY and Sarah Catherine LACEY were married on 11 Oct 1862 in Whitley , Indiana.^7,9,14,16 Sarah Catherine LACEY (daughter of Living and Living) was born about 1842 in Indiana.^7,9,14 She died from a fractured skull on 8 Sep 1909 in Churubusco, Whitley , Indiana.³ She appeared in the following News Article from the Weekly Sentinel on 15 Sep 1909 in Fort Wayne, Allen , Indiana Two months after the death of her husband from paralysis, Mrs. Ezra Ackley, residing one mile south of Churubusco, fell down a stairway at 11 o'clock Tuesday night, fracturing her skull. Death ensued Wednesday morning. She was buried in Riverview Cemetery, Eel River, Allen , Indiana.³ She appeared in the census 1870, 1880 & 1900 in Indiana. listed as Catherine in 1880 census Ezra ACKLEY and Sarah Catherine LACEY had the following children:
