Gertrude Gartry ACKLEY and John Abbott TAYLOR were married on 3 Jan 1812 in Providence, Luzerne , Pennsylvania.^14,24 John Abbott TAYLOR²⁴ (son of Living and Living) was born on 29 Aug 1791 in Providence, Luzerne , Pennsylvania.²⁴ He died on 21 Sep 1867 in Scott, Lackawanna , Pennsylvania.²⁴ He was.²⁴ Known to be carpenter blacksmith and shoemaker as well as a farmer and a mill worker.
John A. Taylor 1791-1867 married in 1812 Gartra Ackley 1791-1867; they were the parents of 13 children, ten of whom lived to be over the age of 80. They were Universalists by religious faith. John settled on a farm in Scott Township near Tomkinsville, beside Elm Brook where he built and ran a saw mill. He was a successful farmer and well known citizen. Almost all of the Taylor sons settled in Scott Township in the vicinity of Orvis Corners and Tomkinsville. They are all buried in the Taylor-Cook Cemetery on the original Taylor farm in Scott Township. Gertrude Gartry ACKLEY and John Abbott TAYLOR had the following children:
