Ray Ackley, 87, of Midway, died Sunday, July 29, 2007, in his home.
He was born in Claysville, a son of William and Bertha Hewitt Ackley.
Mr. Ackley was a World War II veteran and Pearl Harbor survivor, serving in the U.S. Army. A retired millwright for LTV Steel in Hazelwood, he was a life member of Midway Veterans of Foreign Wars and member of Sons of American Revolution.
Deceased are his wife, Betty Jean Campbell Ackley, who died July 25, 1994.
He was the father of Ray (Cindi Mudrick) Ackley of Coraopolis, William (Pat) Ackley of Conesville, Ohio, and Susan and (Hearldine) Gunnoe of Naoma, W.Va.; brother of Margaret Thomas of Claysville, Nora Calvert of Prosperity and Verna Evans of Washington; grandfather of Michelle and Dustin Ackley; and two great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two sisters, Josephine Lough and Stella Cacia; and a brother, John Ackley.
