On 22 Sept., our troop participated in the Service Unit Annual Songfest.
We sang "Home On The Tundra" with our little sister troop, Brownie Troop
#12 .
On 24 Sept., we worked along with our little sister troop at the
Dedication of Crawford Elementary (that's where we go to school).
We poured lemonade and sat out cookies for refreshments.
On 11 Oct., we had our Rededication Ceremony. Our troop sang
God
Bless My Underwear. After the ceremony, we enjoyed a potluck
dinner with foods brought in by the parents of our troop as well as our
Brownie sister troop.
On 22 Oct., we received Patches the Panda from Troop 799 in
Marietta, Georgia. She will be visiting with us until November 7.
We will be sending her off to her next host in Bridgeton, New Jersey.
Patches has been able to spend time with our troop as well as our "little
sister troop", Brownie Troop #12 . We're sure she has had a
great time with both troops. We are sad to see her go, but are looking
forward to the next mascot we are hosting.
On 16 Dec., we had our Christmas Party with the Brownie Troop #12
at Mrs. Kathy's house. We made edible angels, reindeer ornaments
out of dog biscuits, exchanged gifts (the Juniors bought for the Brownies
& visa versa), and had snowmen cupcakes for snack! It was fun!
On 23 Dec., we boarded a base bus and followed Santa and Sparky
around the housing area! We had the windows down and sang Christmas
carols. It was a bit chilly, but fun.
On 9 Jan., we are having a sleep over with the Brownie Troop #12
at the council in Fairbanks. We are going to be working on our Art
To Wear Badge.
On 10 Jan., we will be helping the Council Product Sales Representative
with the new girl cookie training. After the training, we will be
going to McDonalds for lunch. YUM! After eating lunch, we are heading
to the Alaska State Troopers Facility for a tour.
On 31 Jan., our SU hosted our Annual Father/Daughter Event.
This year it was a 50's Dance! It was really neat. We could
have our picture taken with our dad in front of some cool decorations.
We played a couple of games and some people won some door prizes.
We also enjoyed cake that looked like records (whatever they are) and a
cake that had Mickey & Minnie dancing on it. We had a great time.
On 22 Feb., our SU held our Thinking Day Event. This
year we decided to represent States instead of Countries. Our troop
picked Georgia. We made swaps instead of food samples and we made
watermelon pins. This is to represent the Watermelon Festival that
is held every July in Cordele, Georgia. We did the Juliette Low Skit with
Brownie Troop #12 . We thought it to be appropriate and everyone seemed
to enjoy it.
On 31 March, our Service Unit sponsored a Fun Bowl at the base bowling
center. Each troop had 2 lanes and we had to do something different
for each frame. The first frame we had to do the "Macarena" then
bowl. We had pizza and a great time!
On 22 April, since it was Leader's Day, a couple of us wanted to
show our appreciation to Mrs. Kathy for being our leader. We each
gave her something to say "Thank You". Our Service Unit Manager held
a special meeting and gave each Leader & Asst. a small gift.
On 28 April, we attended the Annual Baby Shower-Mother/Daughter
Tea. We each made the baby a gift and read a cute poem to her.
Afterwards we had cake and punch and had our picture taken with our mom.
