I Am

 I am intellectual but proud.

I wonder about others’ thoughts.

I hear a river laughing.

I see mustangs running free.

I want to know I’m doing right.

I am intellectual but proud.

I pretend not to prejudge.

I feel confused about myself.

I touch a smooth stone to calm my thoughts.

I worry about everything.

I cry when I think of our poor Mother Earth.

I am intellectual but proud.

I understand that life is hard.

I say you can do anything you put your mind to.

I dream of living happily ever after.

I try to soothe others.

I hope that I never live to see the day our Mother falls to her knees from disregard.

I am intellectual but proud.
