The Life of a World

Wrap me in your arms,

Don't let evil in.

Keep my soul from harm.

Only your purity will do.

Your rejuvenating breath,

Your slowly pulsing heart.

I know you know no death

For you reside inside my mind.

My mother and my father,

Friend and sister too.

I feel I am a bother

For you have much to do.

Your gentle hand can quiet,

Your soothing voice can heal,

And when you come into sight

My worries fall behind.

I am only one of many.

Your love has touched us all.

Your beauty comes in plenty

For your Mother of our Earth.

Now I'm sitting in your lap.

Your creatures all around.

The forest is your cap

And the sun equals your crown!

Now the rain is gently falling,

For sorrow's in your heart.

Your children are disappearing

As the humans show no regard.

My heart begins to ache

At the thought of losing you

Not only for my sake

But for my children's too.

So please do not go silent.

Show them you can fight.

Gather up your armies,

And dwarf them with your might.

For what good will living be

If you're not there to guide?

You gave my life to me

Will progress leave you far behind?
