The Way

Twin suns tread the skies

casting double shadows

on the bleak land below

home to men--

and women--

with heated passions to rival

the suns' own fires,

spirits tempered

by the land's own flame--

and fate's own wrath--

which to any lesser being

would be death's calling

but instead has become

a way of life--

and path of pride--
