Beef Stew



2 lbs beef chuck, cubed
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
I medium onion, sliced
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 bay leaves
1 tspn salt
1 tspn suger
1/2 tspn pepper
1/2 tspn paprika
Dash cloves
6 carrots, cubed
4 potatoes

In Dutuh oven, thoroughly brown meat, turning often. Add 2 cups water and the next 9 ingredisnts. Cover and simmer for 1-1/2 hours, stirring occasionally to keep from sticking. Remove bay leaves. Add vegetables, cover and cook 30 to 40 minutes, or until veggies are tender.

For Gravy:
Skim most of the fat from the liguid; mesure 1-3/4 cups liguid. combine 1/4 cup water and 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour till smooth. Stir slowly into hot liguid. Cook and stir till bubbly; cook and stir 3 minutes.
