Charlie's Page

Charlie seems to have gotten the same curiousity gene that his sister, Penny had. He cannot sit on your lap and cuddle for any time without moving around. Given the opportunity, he will explore every inch of you, and attempt to leave your lap for the couch back or the couch cushions. He has gotten to be just under three pounds and probably would be a showable pig, except that he has some white hairs mixed in with his jet black fur. He's become aggressive towards Mishka and fights with Cholo on a regular basis. He also seems to have a bit of an overbit, because when he tries to nibble your finger, he invariably bites. That smarts!

Baby Charlie Oddly, he sometimes can be very shy, as shown above. Wasn't like that as a baby, totally fearless. He loves his Blue Seal pellets and eats lots of Timothy Hay and Romaine lettuce. So now he's this handsome devil!

Charlie has had an abscess. This can be very difficult to treat in cavies as they get an encapsulation like rabbits do. So I took him to the surgeon that did Manda Mae's surgery. After two operations we have finally defeated the abscess. Only problem is, it killed one of his lower incisors. So far he seems to be managing with only one, the top two are wearing evenly - I guess due to the side to side way a piggie chews. He lost a lot of weight, but is putting it back on, and is becoming his usual fiesty self again.
