This file lists the name
of every German from Russia
arriving by ship in North
America that has been published by
the Germans from Russia
Heritage Society, 1008 E. Central
Ave., Bismarck, ND 57501.
This list is current through
Volume 24, Issue 3, of the
Heritage Review, published in
September 1994, and contains
20,053 listings.
This list is intended to
be used with file named
GRHSSHIP.TXT. To find the
name of the ship on which a
passenger arrived, first
find the name of passenger on this
list and note the ship reference
number located immediately
to the left of the passenger's
name. Then consult the file
GRHSSHIP.TXT to find the
corresponding reference number. The
listing at that number will
give you the name of the ship,
arrival date, arrival port,
year of publication by GRHS,
name of publication, volume,
issue, and page. NOTE that the
page number given is the
first page on which names for that
ship are published. In some
cases a single passenger list
spans more than one page.

In a few cases, GRHS published passenger names with incomplete identifying
information.
Thus, the reader may occasionally find a series of question marks (?????)
indicating a
missing name, place of origin, or destination. The compiler hopes to
fill these lacunae
in the future and would be grateful to anyone who could provide such
information.
This list is intended to be a finding aid to assist in locating the
original records.
The compiler makes no representation, either explicit or implied, about
the accuracy of
the published records. In every instance, the researcher is advised
to consult the micro-
filmed copies of the original records, which are available through
the United States
National Archives or the Family History Library of the Church of Jesus
Christ of Latter
Day Saints.
