On December 27th, we moved from Beer Sheva to a nearby town. We are very excited about our new home and we want to show it off a bit. All of these pictures were taken by me with a digital cameral (actually, it's a digital video camera that takes stills, as well). Some of them, especially the garden pictures, look really good for digital photos. Note that these were taken in January, not long after we moved. Later on, we had a lot of work done on our garden and it looks much better now. Also, in March, the trees and flowers really started to bloom and our property is now very colorful (all the trees are green and we have lots and lots of flowers). I'll put up more updated pictures of the garden one of these days... |
This first picture is the house from the outside. The gate and the fence that you can barely see in the foreground are pretty ugly and need to be replaced (a future project). The small windows on the left are the kitchen and the windows on the right are the living room. It's a bit difficult to see here, but the living room wall is rounded and those windows go around to the side of the house. The window way up top is the upstairs office -- it's currently where we keep our reading books and the kids' computer. You can see a large balcony right next to it. Sometime in the future we may close off that balcony into a bedroom so that we can have a "suite" of our own upstairs, away from the kids. If we do that, one of the kids will get our bedroom and bathroom. |
On the right is another view from the front, taken from our lawn. This is a better shot of the windows of the upstairs office and you can see our dining room windows right underneath. To the right of the dining room windows is the sliding door to the living room and to the left (you can't see it well because the tree is in the way) is a door leading to the kitchen. As you can see, the edge of our patio is rounded. The leaves are from a huge tree on our lawn. We've been told that the roots of that tree can actually push up the foundation of a house, but fortunately, it appears to be far enough away from the house to avoid such a problem (or we sure hope it is!). |
On the left is another view of the patio, from a little bit closer. You can get a better look at the dining room windows here and you can see the door to the kitchen on the left of the windows (sort of). No, the patio chairs closer to the sliding door aren't floating -- they're just piled up and look funny in the picture! We don't have a garage (you won't see many of those in Israel), but we do have a covered parking area for one car, which you can see on the right hand side of the picture (with the red roof). |
