When I next placed Dolly it was for good, in eastern PA, and it was heaven for her. Kathy and Bill, their two mature teenagers, a Boston terrier named Daisy and two cats. Kathy didn’t just take Dolly to obedience, she took her through basic, intermediate, and another year’s worth in an obedience club, complete with Hallowe’en costume parties!

Dolly and Daisy became a whirlwind of a pair, intimidating the cats into hiding for awhile. But best friends the two became and remain. Dolly’s wonderful demeanor even inspired Kathy to rescue and place a needy pit bull terrier herself.

Kathy sends photos from time to time of the petite red nose that came so far from a wretched, inner city life where she would have been somebody’s breeding machine and possibly fought. Lucky? You bet!
