Charlotte of Charlotte and Comment Inc., asked if I would let everyone know about Oscar's
story.
Oscar was a husky mix that used to live a few houses down the street from Charlotte
Jusinski, but under mysterious circumstances he and other animals completely disappeared
along with their humans. Help stop the neglect Oscar and the other animals went through. http://people.csnet.net/jusinski/oscar.html
Update on Legislation New York:
I received an email from Joan Conley, you all may remember Cindy the cat who was burned,
Joan maintains the page about Cindy.
Here is what the mail said:
I am using the message board to write to people regarding the Buster Bill. Although it my
only be of interest to those of us who live in NYS I ask you to look at the sample letter
from Assemblyman Tedesco which we have placed on the Cindy page To get an idea of what
legislative changes are being proposed for NYS in the wake of a tragedy which was
equivalent to Cindy's. If you are in NYS, I urge you to write to the Governor, the State
Senators and Assembly persons mentioned, as well as to your own representatives. If you
are not in NYS, heck, write anyway--it can't hurt!! I thank you for your support of Cindy
and of the Cindy page.
Joan Conley

Soapbox Section:
I wanted to share something with everyone that really upset me the other day. I went to a
local grocery store Tuesday to pick up a few things. Well as I walked closer i saw a
family sitting on a bench nothing unusual, well then i saw one of their little boys
standing near the door holding a sign "Free Puppies to Good Homes" I walked into
the store thinking if only they had had there dog spayed or neutered and then I started to
wonder what the fate of the puppies would become if they did not find good homes for them.
Well as i was getting my items paid for I decided i would go inquire about the puppies but
when i walked back out the family was gone i cruised around the parking lot and did not
see them anywhere.
I know many of you are thinking that yeah we have seen this also. Well this is still
bothering me, and the only thing i can come up with is that we must fight harder than ever
to get the word out about pet overpopulation. Even if we just save one cat or dog from
having one litter think of how many animals
we can potentially save from certain death.
Thank you all for your work on behalf of our furbabies and for taking the time to read
this newsletter. Together we do make a difference.
Purrs and nose kisses,
Lee Ann
