Nice shot of the Lagoon Scott. I have been following your posts on APML with a great deal of interest. While some may say that your LX5 is not "ideal" for prime focus astrophotos my experience (with a 2080B) is that the techniques and habits learned wit
this setup will pay big dividends as you progress with this hobby (or disease) of astrophotography. Your choice of Superia 800 X-Tra is a good one. I have been havine a good deal of success with this film. I would suspect that a scan of the negative w
ll suprise you. The additional faint whisps of nebulosity will pop right out. Again a VERY nice shot!

I have viewed your first astro photo. Of all of the amateur astronomers in the world, very few can, or have ever, taken a manually guided off axis one hour photo.
The going may be slow, and expensive, but if you keep going you will continue to improve....and perhaps at a quicker pace now.

Very nice "first astrophoto"! Great job of guiding. Having done a lot of manual guiding, I can appreciate the effort that went into this.
