Zantz (Stat US Zantz)
Hi, my name is Zantz. My racing name is Stat US Zantz. I'm a 2 year old, blue and white greyhound. My mom and dad adopted me on March 3, 2001. Well, actually they officially adopted me on March 5, 2001. They started out fostering me with the intent to adopt but they wanted to make sure that I got along with all the other dogs in our home before they made a lifetime commitment to me. I don't know why mom and dad were worried about us getting along. I'm a good boy!
Mom volunteers for a greyhound adoption group in Michigan called GEM (GreytHounds of Eastern Michigan). That's how she adopted me! One of the other GEM volunteers knew that mom and dad were considering adopting another dog so she told mom about me. I hadn't been brought to the group yet, but my Aunt Kristen knew that I would be perfect for mom and dad. Mom said that she would meet me, possibly foster me and then make a decision. Well, the rest is history.
My racing owner, John Taylor, brought me up to Michigan for GEM. He also brought 18 other greyhounds. One of them was my sister, Zuma! She's a blue and white greyhound, too! Anyways, mom got to meet my racing owner and ask him all kinds of questions about me. She really liked him a lot! She said that he is a really nice man....but I already knew that! Anyways, she said that he knows all about each of our personalities! She was also impressed that he knew all of our names. That impressed her because she only has to remember 4 names and she can't keep THOSE straight half the time!!
Anyhow, here's a picture of me. It was taken a few days after I got to my new home. As you can see, it didn't take me long to figure out that the couch is THE place to be! Mom will be helping me put more pictures up eventually. I'm still kind of unsure of that camera thing. It flashes and makes weird noises! Hope you enjoy what we have up here so far, though!
