Will of William PALMER, Augusta Co, VA
In the name of God, Amen. I William
Palmer of Augusta County and state of Virginia now being in perfect
mind and memory do constitute my last will and testament in four
following improvis. I humbly bequeath my body to the dust from
whence it was taken my soul to God that gave it in hopes of his
most gracious acceptance thereof in through the merits of my
compassionate redeemer amen blessed be God as for my worldly estate
I order I bequeath in manner following.
Viz: I order all my lawful debts in the first place to be
puntuncally and honorably paid. Item I leave to my dear and well
beloved son Robert Palmer all my wearing apparel. I bequeath my son
William Palmer my plantation where on I now live and one bay horse
and one ? cow. I bequeath to my dear Marey Palmer one bay mare and
one black horse and two cows one named Steally and the other Brekey.
I bequeath to my daughter Ann Palmer one bay mare with white stripe
in her face one black cow with a white face and one heifer called
her own. I bequeath to my daughter Martha Palmer one bay mare called
Polly one bindled heifer and two yearlings one steer, ? heifer and one
cow. I bequeath all my household furniture to be divided betwix
William, Marey, Ann and Robert each one to hold an equal share and I
bequeath that while any of or all of my above named daughters
remains single and sees means to live with my son William on the
plantation where I now live if they help him as they have done in ...
themselves and...to have a subgirtance on the place I bequeath to
my son-in-law Jams Spence the just and full sum of five shillings.
I so constitute my son William and my daughter Marey executor of my
last will and testament in confirmation where I leave hereunto set
my hand and fixed my seal this 26th day of March in the year of 1790.
